Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro ruled out the possibility of reaching a final agreement in the Summit of the Americas, due to US and Canadian's veto on the presence of Cuba in the next such meetings.

Maduro announced his country will not attend another Summit in which Cuba is excluded, and the same goes for the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) country members.

Argentinean FM Hector Timmerman said his country might not sign a final declaration for the Cartagena de Indias meeting, to show its opposition to the persistent exclusion of Cuba from the Summits.

According to Latin American media, the lack of consensus on another key issue as the debate on drugs and their decriminalization will be another hurdle to pass before signing the Final Declaration.

Poverty, inequality and matters related to safety, access to technologies, natural and environmental disasters are, according to Telesur network, the key topics to be discussed by the heads of state and government this afternoon at the Cartagena Conventions Center during the Sixth Summit of the Americas.
