Cuba Has Potential to Diversify its Tourist Product |

 The regional director for the Americas of the World Organization of the Tourism, Carlos Vogeler, stated in Ciego de Ávila, that Cuba has many potentialities to diversify his tourist services and products.
During a visit to Jardines del Rey, he pointed out that one of the principal wealths is the almost virgin nature in those keys of the north coast of the central region of the Island.
It is clear that the image of Cuba collaborates to the tourism of the sun and beaches because it has spas of big beauty and they are very well preserved, I have verified it at Pillar in key Guillermo, which I consider to be the best of the Caribbean.
He said as other components of relevancy the Cuban culture, the history and the folklore, which can be promoted accordingly.
The diversity of the flora and the fauna and the incomparable marine funds, with an extensive coral reef, are important elements for bearing in mind.
Also to introduce nautical trips between the different islets of the north keys.
"It is an area, he said, where the waters are very calm and crystalline and a contact is experienced with the very agreeable sea,for example the tourists can go fishing, swim and visualize the wealths the sea."
"I could perceive this kindness during the trip in catamaran between the keys of Santa Maria and Guillermo; also there, we can see historical and natural elements that are interrelated, because this was one of the routes that Ernest Hemingway experienced, when he was in Cuba," he added.
He also admired the works that are being made in Jardines del Rey to preserve the dunes and the coastal vegetation, by means of the construction of wooden footbridges to avoid the footsteps of persons and car tires in the surroundings.
On this aspect he expressed that there cannot be tourist development if it is not sustainable,and that is fundamental to preserve the environment and ecosystems, because this is an aspect for which the tourist is always grateful. (PL)
