The only road linking the cays Coco, Romano and Paredon Grande, islets making up the Jardines del Rey tourist destination in the northern coast of this province, was concluded with the completion of the La Pasa bridge.
The 125 meter-long road was asphalted and signposted, which favors rapid and safe transit to that area of the Cuban seaside resort, the head of investments for the highway administration in Ciego de Avila, Ruben Galvan, told the Prensa Latina news agency.
He specified that the investment, valued at over one million pesos, included the demolition of the structure of a spinning bridge that had been in construction for several years.
At present, the cays Coco and Guillermo are the only ones with construction development, while Paredon Grande and Romano are included in the plan to expand the tourist area.
Jardines del Rey, among Cuba's most important beach resorts, has some 4,900 rooms in 14 hotels and stands out for its beaches of coralline origin, of extraordinary beauty and high degree of preservation. (acn) |
