Solidarity Group for the Cuban Five Created in Morón PDF Print E-mail

fiveThe Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACCR)in the municipality of Morón, north of the central province of Ciego de Ávila, created a group of support and solidarity with the cause of the Cuban Five unjustly imprisoned in U.S. jails since 1998.

Chaired by José Manuel Besada Guzmán, Collective Lawyer's Office in that territory, the solidarity group responds to an agreement resulting from an encounter of female combatants, which raised the need to increase the solidarity with the Cuban compatriots
from any revolutionary trench.

Juan Pablo Arencibia Toledo, an official of the provincial branch of the Cuban Friendship Institute, expressed the importance of the creation of these solidarity groups in favor of Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González y
René González,and called the Morón people to spread the truth of the Cuban Five case by all possible means of communication, especially on social networks like Twitter and Facebook, according to individual possibilities.

He added that in the territory there are over 20 support groups for the release of the five, which have more than 200 Avilanians from all sectors of society, including foreign students and residents.

Among the agreements of the first meeting of the group is the declaration of a Solidarity Day for the Cuban Five on the 5th of every month, and grant the membership to journalist Leonel Iparraguirre Gonzálezof the Morón local radio station for his work in systematically broadcasting the facts about Gerardo, Ramón, Antonio, Fernando and René.

In addition to the members of the ACCR, other groups carry out actions for the release of the Cuban Five, among them the foreign students of theArley Hernández MoreiroMedical Sciences Branch, and the Concento de Amigosfor the early release of the Five.
