President Hugo Chavez traveled at midnight to Havana, Cuba, to receive the third phase of radiotherapy treatment.
The head of State was seen off at the Simon Bolivar International Airport of Maiquetia by Executive Vice President Elias Jaua, Ministers Ricardo Menendez and Edmee Betancourt, and the governors of Vargas, Jorge Luis Garcia Carneiro, and Barinas, Adan Chavez.
"I have to continue this battle for life," Chavez said during a working meeting held at the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, a few hours before leaving for Cuba.
In his words last night on his Twitter account, Chavez wrote, "Already over the landing strip of the Simon Bolivar International Airport to Havana, through faith in the Risen Christ! We shall live and overcome!
Chavez also said he expects to return to Venezuela on April 11 or 12 to attend the commemorative activities on the April 2002 events. (PL)
