Rene Gonzalez: Happy to be among his People and Family |

 On his way out of the U.S. Interests Section to Havana on Monday, René Gonzalez, one of the five Cuban antiterrorist heroes unfairly condemned by a U.S. court, said he was very happy to be among his people and family.
Gonzalez arrived to that diplomatic mission on Monday accompanied by his lawyer Phillip Horowitz, to begin the formal procedure of relinquishing his U.S. citizenship, a condition imposed by Judge Joan Lenard to allow him to stay permanently in Cuba.
Rene was in prison for 13 years and after finishing serving his sentence on October 7, 2011, the U.S. judicial system, in what was considered by experts as another arbitrary act, imposed on him three years of supervised release, which forced him to stay in U.S. territory.

Raul Castro Highlights Hugo Chavez's Legacy |

 Cuban President Raul Castro on Saturday highlighted the legacy of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez, whom he described as a continuator of Simon Bolivar's work.
"Chavez has established the guidelines in the continent ('), he left undefeated, invincible", Raul Castro said in statements to Cuban television upon arriving in Santiago de Cuba from Venezuela, where he attended Chavez's funeral ceremony.
He said that he had returned home certain about the continuity of the project boosted by the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution.

 Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro expressed his satisfaction for the returned on Monday by President Hugo Chavez to Venezuela.
In a letter addressed to the Bolivarian leader, Fidel Castro recalled that it was necessary to wait a long time of anguish for Chavez's return, but his amazing physical strength and the commitment of the medical team made it possible.
Fidel also stressed the permanent support given by Chavez's relatives, his cabinet members, the armed forces and the honest people of the world, and particularly the Venezuelan people with their daily enthusiastic gestures of support.
